Detailed Reports: This section breaks down your email into its featured Links
These are displayed in a few groupings, listed below. You may see links listed multiple times across different categories.
Each link has click report data on the right, giving you an idea of which of your stories are popular with which of your subscribers.
Note: one URL may be used for different 'links'. All links with the same URL will show the same # clicks.
Click data:
Subscriber Clicks Unique: How many subscribers clicked on this link?
Subscriber Clicks Total: How many times in total have my subscribers clicked this link?
Anonymous clicks are also recorded – anonymous clicks are from readers who are not identified as someone within your Mail House (e.g. someone clicking on the article from the web version, or a non-subscriber clicking on an article after a friend has forwarded the edition to them).
Categories:
Content Blocks (Links): This category shows each Article or Content Block in your edition and lists the links inside it. On the left you can see how many clicks each link received.
Note: Article blocks without the "Title" field populated will require users to use "Report as" section instead. If either of the two are not filled in, the article block will not appear in the detailed reports.
Image with links: Any images with links attached to them will appear in this section. (e.g. Image Widgets with an added URL.)
External Clicks: This detailed report shows all clicks made on links within your edition which link to external websites. For example, clicks made on a link to your company homepage (if such a link exists either within your template or within your edition content).
External clicks that appear multiple times in different sections in your email will be consolidated into one statistic displayed within the "external clicks" table.
Document Web Version Opened: This detailed report shows clicks made on the footer link to the web version, eg "Click here to view this email in your web browser."
Other reporting data:
Top Domains: This detailed report reveals the top ten recipient domains. This gives you a good idea of your recipient demographic and what domain the majority are using. For example, a majority could be using a web email client such as Yahoo or Gmail – you might want to run some edition tests to these domains to see how your emails appear.
Time Graph: This line graph shows all the recorded opens across a time frame, giving you insight into the optimum opening time of your recipients – which gives you an idea as to when you should publish future emails.
Subscriptions: This detailed report shows you how many people subscribed or unsubscribed via this particular publication.
Devices, Applications and Operating Systems: This detailed report reveals the Platforms (operating systems) and Internet Browsing software used by those who have received and opened or clicked the publication. This report is very useful for gauging how your publication should be formatted and tested e.g. a large percentage of people opening the email on mobiles would suggest that creating a mobile version of the email could be beneficial.
Locations: This detailed report outlines the location of the recipient based on their IP address. These locations are broken up into countries and cities. This report is never a true reflection of the recipient bases location as it is very easy to hide your identity and location on the internet, however the report is still a good guide.
Successful forwards: If the email template contained a forward to friend page then this area will display who forwarded, and the message that may have accompanied the forwarding. The Swift Digital forward-to-a-friend link must be used by the recipient in order for it to appear in your reports.
Poll Reports: This will display the Results and total number of votes for the Poll in your Newsletter
Top Domains: Displays a total number of domains that have been sent to per publication. This report provides a list of all the domains and the total number of contacts associated with the domain listed.
Exporting Reports: You can export individual reports via the Export button located beneath every table of statistics. This will export that particular table of stats as a CSV file which you can then open up in Excel to manage further. You can also export specific statistics via the Export link located to the far right of a row.
You can also export the entire report (this includes basic statistics as well as all the detailed report sections) by clicking the Export All button located above your basic stats table.
Viewing Statistics in Pie Charts and Bar Graphs: you can view specific report statistics in pie graphs and bar charts whenever the graph icons appear below a report table. Simply click on either the Pie Graph icon or the Bar Chart icon to view the graph. The graph can be printed by right clicking and selecting Print.
Click Map: You can preview your edition as a click map which will reveal click figures for each link within your edition. To do so, simply click the Click Map button above your basic statistics table. The total that appears in the click map is a combination of your Total Subscriber Clicks and Anonymous clicks.
Save as PDF: If you wish to save the entire report (including detailed report sections) as it appears within Suite (within tables, and with pie graphs and bar charts) then you can save it as a PDF by clicking the Save as PDF button located above the basic stats table.
SOFT bounce: A soft bounce is an email message that gets as far as the recipient's mail server (it recognises the address) but is bounced back undelivered before it gets to the intended recipient.
A soft bounce might occur because the recipient's mailbox is full, the server is down or swamped with messages, the message is too large or the user has abandoned the mailbox. Most email service providers will attempt to deliver the email regularly for a few days. If it is still undelivered, it becomes a hard bounce.
HARD bounce: A hard bounce is an email message that has been returned to the sender and is permanently undeliverable. Causes include invalid addresses (domain name doesn't exist, typos, changed address, etc.) or the email recipient's mail server has blocked your server.
