Call-To-Action buttons are one of the most important features in emails as well as landing pages. Its purpose is to guide readers towards related content stored on an external website, or lead users towards your goal conversions.
These buttons are now easily accessible in both Email Composer and Landing Pages. Here is a quick guide on how you can utilise this NEW functionality:
Steps
1. Access Email Composer or Landing pages, and go into the editor of either module.
2. Creating a new block, drag in the "Article block" and hover over to the block editor on the right.
3. In the block editor, click the button titled "Link Button" . This will open up a separate editor for users to customise the Call-To-Action button.
4. In the field "Button Link", users will need to manually fill this with an external URL or clicking into , users will have access to "Swift Digital Links".
5. Specify whether the link will open up via the current tab or new tab via the checkbox "Open link in new tab". When checked, the link will open up in a new tab for email recipients. When unchecked, email recipients will be redirected to the website within their current tab.
6. Click insert to add the CTA button to your article blocks.
Button Editor
The above image shows a variety of settings users are able to access when adding a Call-To-Action button. The following settings are as follows:
- Button Text: Text shown within the button. Please keep this text short / to a single line for best presentation across email clients.
- Type: Allow users to specify whether the Call-To-Action button will be in the form of a button, or string of text.

Button Style: Users will be able to style their buttons in four different ways.
- Style 1: Border and Shadow Colour disabled
- Style 2: Border Colour disabled
- Style 3: All Colour Specific settings enabled
- Style 4: Background and Shadow Colour disabled.
- Button Alignment: Users can select the position of the Call-To-Action button, or stretch the button across the page.
- Border Radius: Will enable users to customise the curvature of button edges.
Link Types
In the Button Link field you may:
1. Place the URL that you would like to direct to.
2. Place in the action code that you would like to execute.
- For example: {!E2_CANCEL_LINK!} will cancel a recipients registration to a linked event
3. Click the link icon to open up the Native Links menu:
- General action links can be found here. Including Unsubscribe and Forward-to-a-friend.
- SwiftDigital Native links to your Emails, Pages, Events and Surveys can be found here too.
