As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening security, Swift Digital has implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to provide an additional layer of protection for your account.
MFA enhances account security by requiring a second form of verification beyond your password, helping to ensure that only authorised users can gain access.
This added security measure significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access and plays a critical role in protecting sensitive information.
Common Troubleshooting Steps for Microsoft Authenticator Codes
1. Check Device Date & Time Settings
- Ensure your mobile device’s date and time are set to automatic.
- Incorrect time settings can cause generated codes to be invalid or out of sync.
2. Use the Most Recent Code
- Authenticator codes refresh every ~30 seconds.
- Always enter the latest code displayed and avoid using an older one.
- If a code fails, restart the login process and try a new code.
3. Ensure the App is Updated
- Check that the Microsoft Authenticator app is updated to the latest version.
- Outdated versions can cause authentication failures.
4. Confirm the Correct Account is Selected
- If multiple accounts exist in the app, ensure you are using the correct account/profile linked to Swift Digital Suite.
- Remove and re-add the account if unsure.
5. Check Device Connectivity
- Ensure your device has a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
- Try to switch connection from Wi-Fi or Mobile data and (vice versa)
- While codes can generate offline, connectivity issues may affect authentication flows.
6. Restart the App or Device
- Close and reopen the Authenticator app.
- Restart your mobile device to clear temporary issues.
7. Check Notifications & App Permissions
- Ensure notifications are enabled and the app has required permissions.
- Some authentication flows rely on prompts or background activity.
8. Clear Cache / Reinstall the App (if needed)
- Clear the app cache (Android) or reinstall the app.
- This helps resolve persistent bugs or corrupted data.
9. Re-sync or Reconfigure the Authenticator App
- Remove the account from the app and re-add it using the QR code.
- This can fix issues where the app becomes out of sync.
- Steps can be found below this guide.
